This follows a 2023 outbreak that saw 38 cats die of avian influenza inside of a shelter in South Korea. Researchers studied this incident and revealed their conclusions in Mother nature Communications, concluding that the outbreak illustrates the improved possibility of inter-species spread with the disease, and the likely danger to individuals.
